A tasty summer beer.

My local convenience store had some singles (16oz.) of these.
First I've seen of it. 6.5 ABV....a very good IPA
The taste is similar to an Orange Julius...but with a kick.
It's brewed in Ann Arbor.

so its sweet? really sweet?

i cant drink sweet beers. just not in me. but i wont knock if you love it.

stevej37 07-27-2020 10:58 AM

^^^ No..I would not consider it being a sweet beer. The orange flavor is stronger than I thought it would be and it has a malt thickness to it.
I really liked it and I normally don't go for fruit flavored beers.

I drink quite a few beers from my local micro brewery.
They do limited brews and put all kinds of stuff in them.
Some you think would taste bad are great and visa versa.
I can't do sweet either.

I don't care for any IPA I have tried as yet. And a strong fruit flavor is two strikes against it for me.

If you like it great, you can have my ration of it. ;)

I prefer German style beers.

I had some of this at a local brewery recently. This is brewed in Tulsa. Pretty yummy. Much like my favorite of all, Erdinger Dunkle!

The perfect beer in my opinion.

lagers uh? i like them as well. so can you drink mexican beers? i kinda feel they are all modeled after German Lagers. but i am no expert.

GH85Carrera 07-27-2020 11:23 AM

Mexican beers are fine, just don't fruit my beer. I don't want a lime shoved in the bottle.

If it is someone else buying the beer I will drink just about anything. I have only had one beer I did like and could not finish. It was some pink wine like nasty abomination of the name beer.

Makes you wonder if the brewmaster was a John Candy fan!

i respectfully beg to differ. :)

That Orange Whip is good but I’m not sure I could drink a 6 pack of it. On a hot day, unlike the cold winter day I sampled it, perhaps it would taste more like ‘5 more’...

I agree...I only had one (16oz.) but two would have been plenty. An IPA over 6.5 can't be consumed like a Bud 6 pack.SmileWavy

^^^
Sure it can! It just hits ya hard.

Amen to that... + eleventy billion...

Does this orange flavored beer actually taste as orangey as an orange Julius? I’ve had plenty of IPAs with some fairly citrusy hopps but never anything that tasted like orange soda.

To me..yes. Plus it has a thick malty taste to it...the first thing I thought of after tasting ..was Orange Julius.

My summer go-to is a Kolsch.
On special occasions I'll make a michelada.
