First playoffs casualty

The Rangers went down in flames: lost 3 straight. Never really showed any glimmer of hope. Sadly, King Henry lost his throne and I predict he will retire.

I think he will keep playing. For a new team.

brshap 08-05-2020 06:44 AM

Good riddance.

Henry said he wanted to stay in NY and is too proud to be a backup. I can't see him playing for another team. He carried the team for many seasons when he had to help from the D. They owed him this last chance but I don't see him staying since the other two goalies can easily carry the team without him.

Poor King Henry. It's not like he was blessed with talent or rock star good looks or anything. Whatever will he do to survive?

Caps actually seemed to play him pretty well (occasionally would be games where he was lights out, but not often against the Caps). He wasn't a goalie I (as a Caps fan) feared as much as others.

Henrik Lundqvist, 818 games, 0.918 save percentage.

Carey Price, 682 games, 0.917 save percentage.

Just to be clear, I think he's a GREAT goalie. Caps just seemed to play him at least slightly better than some teams (normally). Although the stats may prove me wrong, who knows.

Maybe Marty can find a job for him.

Looch was a factor in that series, I would say. He seems to fit that team, go Calgary

They were never contenders after the Laine and Scheifele injuries.

To come. I'm still in shock.

Funny you mention 'heart'. One team has it, one team doesn't (so far).

The best six or eight players on the ice play for the Leafs. Yet they get outworked, outplayed, and can't win. They are a bit soft for playoff hockey.

They aren't out of it, they are good enough to win two straight games. But I am not confident they will.

The Leaf's must be cursed. It must be the ghost of Harold Ballard (previous owner). They've re-built that team so many times since 1967 I've lost count. One thing they're good at is excuses. I believe they're done after tonight.

Reg 08-07-2020 05:55 PM

Pens OUT on SIDS BD no less. Leafs looking pretty lame after first period and it is do or die.

Reg 08-07-2020 05:57 PM

... watch for finishing checks, driving into boards, intensity. You will not see leafs doing much of it. Arrrrgh

Por_sha911 08-07-2020 05:58 PM

Well they're starting to drop like flies.

Pens out Habs in (not sure who I dislike worse so one down and one to go)
Panthers dusted off by the Isles - no surprise
Nashville gone - they never really showed up.
Jets lost to Calgary - THIS one surprised me. The Flames were on life support in March.

Looks like the Leafs are keeping the tradition of losing alive but it ain't over yet.

To have truth in advertising: The Bruins haven't shown up yet after an exhibition game and two round robin games. They will be out in 4 if they don't wake up.

Tampa is looking like the team to beat this year. Dark Horse: Flyers

Who said he's terrible? I'm an Islander fan. The Queen being put out to pasture is a happy day.

Although Shersterkin (sp?) looks like no slouch.
