The colors and blacks are really vivid.

best thing about the LG remote is that it uses Bluetooth, so no need to point it - ruins you for other remotes

Very nice, and if someone sets something down in front of the IR "eye" you don't have to move it. BT or radio is the way to go.

I have the LG C8 and love it ! So far, no issue with burn in. I do run the pixel refresher about once a month though. The blacks are just that, black. In a totally dark room if the tv screen goes black, you cannot tell where the tv is in the room !

That's impressive!

For the $$$ Hisense is hard to beat. My 55" is 7 years old and eveyone that sees it comments on how great the picture is. I think it was $750 back then. You can likely get one for 1/2 that now.

Thanks, good to know that someone here also has HiSense (in addition to the TCL owners).

I just tried that. There is a little selector arrow that shows up on the screen when you point the remote at the TV and scroll the wheel. And it moves around as you move the remote. And it does not need line of sight. I don't know how it knows where you're pointing the remote. It's insane.

I believe I looked at the current version of that too.

New TV

I just bought a new 43" 4K Toshiba "Fire TV". I got rid of all the Directv stuff, cancelled the subscription and signed up for Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+. Even though I have pretty slow internet, the system works great and only pauses briefly and not often. No problems with unwanted ads, etc. Cost of the service is about 1/2 what DTV cost. Good picture but sound is just average. I have a surround sound system but it is not currently in use. Guess I need to plunder around some and get it working!
