I carry a canvas Carhartt bi-fold wallet. The canvas keeps it from sliding around (usually in my back right pocket).

I prefer the small credit card wallets. It holds 3 or 4 cc’s on one side. It has a clear window in the other side for my dl and a cash slot for a few bills.
My wife bought the kit several years ago with it, a regular bi fold wallet, and a checkbook cover. I carry the small one, keep the rest of my cc’s and business cards in the regular ome in a drawer in my kitchen, and my checkbook in the cover also in the drawer in my kitchen. I feel bad because I know she dropped 4 or 5 bills on the set but the small cheapest one is the one I prefer. I could’ve done without the rest.
Here’s the small case

I used to carry this one that I bought in a small shop along the marina in Portofino Italy. It’s still in good condition but when your wife buys you a new one you carry it.

Lots of options
Good luck

I found this tooled leather wallet at a trading post out in the desert of western Az.
Thought I was getting some old school western craftsmanship.

Only to find the made in China tag deep in one of the pockets when I was loading it a few days later.

Yep, it's fatter than I'd like, but I carry it in a small backpack most times.

Cheers Richard

I have not carried a wallet for years. Hate the bulk of them. I simply carry a credit card and drivers license in my pant pocket. Never use cash. If I am doing something different like Costco or medical then I take those cards as well. Works very well for me.

Shinola 5 card case. Very similar to javadog’s Ferrari wallet. ID, couple of cards, with enough room for some walking around money in the middle. Separate cash clip if I’m going somewhere where I will need frequent cash (like a wedding for tips)

I prefer a traditional wallet. After a lot of trial and error I found that Brooks Brothers' regular wallet wears like iron. Wait for when they're on sale and they're a great deal. I like them so much I gave one to each of my sons. They love them too, and abuse them about as hard as me.

Recently I had to buy a second wallet and I found Allen Edmunds' wallet was well priced and also wears like iron. On sale it was also a good price.

Carbon fiber is $125.

tevake 08-19-2020 02:07 PM

$125, Spend it if you have it.

I payed around $25 for my tooled leather one.
After getting it out for the pic this morning, I removed about half a dozen old cards and some papers, getting it back down to a comfortable thickness

Cheers Richard

You kind of did. Instead of some horse riding, mountain desert living descendant of Sam Houston or Geronimo hand tooling that wallet, it was hand tooled by the horse riding, mountain desert living descendant of some Mongol king.

Based on this thread and your recommendation I figured I can afford to gamble $20 on a new wallet. My old one is still serviceable, but has some worn edges and only had a few years of use left.

I have one debit card, one personal credit card, and my business credit card. Those were a tight fit, but the leather should stretch with some butt sweat. Of course my driver's license, two analog business cards to hand out, and 7 different cards from my AAA card to insurance cards, and some cash.

It is thinner than my old wallet that I have carried for 20 years or so. The old one had some analog photos of my wife and family, but I have lots of photos on my phone that is always with me so the analog photos are stored away, digital rules for photos.

I will give it a test run of several months in the real world. If I don't like it, I can go back to the old one.

i dont think my wallet would look that impressive. it would have a one-dollar bill exposed. sucks.

Go dig up a $20 and never spend it unless it is an emergency.

I never carry 100s unless I am going to buy something specific. I usually have about 50 to 60 bucks on me at most.

I bought this wallet about 10 years ago......I think it will last forever.
