Duramax owners

I jsut discovered I do not have a power steering cooler. It gets pretty hot after a long drive in summer time here. Some GM trucks have them some don't from the factory. I wonder why? Due to today's crazy heat, I want to install a Doorman one up front to keep things nice and cool. I have never had any issues at least, none that I know of. Yours?

was it an option? would one look for hoses coming of the unit going to a cooler near the tranny cooler? what year is yours? ive got an 07.5.

06, BRZ. Its crew cab, long bed 4wd. You think Chevy would install a cooler on that? It is their biggest truck in that line up. I read some trucks have it, some don't? The slot where the factory cooler goes it empty with mounting holes asking me to install one.

Depending upon your usage, a cooler for power steering might be needless complication. If your driving is urban with a lot of tight turns into lots and driveways, a cooler might help. If you are tooling down the highway 95% of the time, forgot about it.

If you are concerned, try changing out all of the old fluid for new (not sure if they have a high heat PS fluid available for sale). Changing out the 13 year old stuff will certainly help, and as said before, perhaps it really doesn't need a cooler.
