I don't know, but there are plenty here. Young and retired. You know that film director guy, James Cameron, he's got a farm not far from here and one of the girls at the vet's goes out with his son.

Very quick google search shows that you need to be able to invest $750,000 for two years to be eligible to retire there.

Appears that there are a few other circumstances that qualify as well- which means I don’t on any of the metrics!

With our weak dollar you only need about half that $750,000.

It is pretty weird here. We get thousands of young Indian guys who come here on a student visa, never attend class but work in the kitchen at an Indian restaurant, then get citizenship and bring their extended family over.

Why does your government allow that? What sort of degrees are offered for 69 year old students?

I really don't know why. And it seems just about everyone who moves here is a poor person. NZ is like a single state in the US but we don't have a federal system to fall back on, so we need people with money or who can make money.

I'm sure there are degrees for us people in our sixties The fact that we are smarter  than everyone else must count for something.

We are having the same problem in Canada. Bigger problem really because these guys are driving transport and dump trucks with a fake license. People are getting killed on the road.
