According to what I've read, you probably did not get ill from the shot, cases like yours are usually due to catching a bug at the same time as the shot.

The stuff in the shot is dead and cannot make you sick.

It takes about 2 weeks for it to be effective.

Pneumonia jab for me today

Asked the nurse how long my flu shot is good for, was told a year and they change the formula every year as the virus changes/adapts
