Seriously VW?

Another emissions recall. Petrol this time - the wife's 2019.
YMBFJ.

"Volkswagen is providing an Engine and Transmission Control Module (ECM/TCM) software update to address elevated tailpipe emissions that were found during vehicle testing. This software will also improve drivability and provide other diagnostic improvements."

Seriously, Govt.?

Alan A 10-02-2020 12:54 PM

Yeah. No.
They knew the rules when the car came out.

And having also had a diesel Touareg and gone through that debacle I’m about done with them.

The rules...I can only imagine the difficulty of complying with all the rules of all the various Govt. agencies scattered throughout the globe. The recall could be something as benign as a gas cap gasket not complying to code...this doesn't really mean any purposeful cheating on VW's part.

Okay by me that you're done with them, though. You might consider domestic when searching for a replacement...

LOL! We have one of those too...A Camry. Great for around town chores...but excitement is indeed lacking.
