Neal Peart was probably a bigger kick in the gut for me, both gone in 2020.

vash 10-06-2020 01:05 PM

flipper35 10-06-2020 01:05 PM

Eddie had talent but Neal was more than just a drummer.

Damn, wife and I saw them summer of 78 at a place called the Hollywood Bowl south of Amarillo Tx. Came on in a cloud of dope smoke playing eruption. Amazing show. Saw them in 80 then 84. Fantastic high energy shows. Then saw them 2002 with Hagar. Eddie must have been blown out of his mind. Indoor arena packed with 12,000. Started playing a single note then jacking with the tone knob. Everyone there was WTF. Still a good show but the jumps were long gone.

Same here. I knew 2020 was going to be sucktastic on Jan. 7th.

RIP Eddie. You’re a legend. 🎸

Not a big fan of him, but his guitar work on Michael Jackson's Thriller is very good.
God Speed.

Van Halen provided the soundtrack to my High School years.

I typically do not care if someone famous who I never met dies. This one bummed me out as did Bowie. Both were huge parts of the soundtrack of my youth.

All honor to the king. He's the reason I picked up a guitar.
