Yep, just heard. RIP Mr Connery.

A friend said something long ago that has stuck with me. "We have to live well for the ones that are gone".

The best James Bond. Perhaps the only James Bond.

"Shaken...not stirred."

You will be missed, sir.

My favortite part he played was in'The Hunt for Red October'

flatbutt 10-31-2020 06:35 AM

His work was always worth watching with just a few exceptions (Zardoz and that Exceptional Gentlemen thing). Hunt for Red October was outstanding. Then there was his role as the father of Indiana Jones.

In his Bond movies there is one line that lives forever in my mind. When confronted by Pussy Galore and she introduces herself he says "I must be dreaming". Gold!

RIP Mr. Connery

sc_rufctr 10-31-2020 06:48 AM

I'd describe Zardoz as brave. (And I'm guessing Mr Connery had no say in the customs)

He had a good run. They say that he died in his sleep, but you know what really happened is that he bedded a couple of hot commie spy chicks and one of them slipped him a poison kiss.

Ahh, schit...RIP. :(

Another reminder of our own mortality...

red-beard 10-31-2020 10:52 AM

God-da**-it 2020 sucks!

Daniel Craig and to a lesser extent Timothy Dalton were the only two who really lived up to the Sean Connery james Bond. Strangely enough, George Lazenby actually did a credible job, just tough to live up to Sean Connery.

And as everyone has pointed out above, he was in a LOT more than just James Bond.
