Swagman Bike Rack

Just finished assembling one of these for my Fit.
Went together easily and I'm happy with it so far. (seems to be high quality) Total price thru Amazon...$94
Does anyone else use one of these?

I have see these on the interstates.
The bikes always seem to be rocking like a rocking horse.
What is the size of the hitch tongue?

A whopping inch and a quarter. But that is what it's designed for. I just put the hitch on the Fit last week. Tomorrow, with the nice weather, they will both be tried out.

In the description of the rack, they address the rocking motion. They say that others have it because they use just a pin hitch, which wiggles.
Swagman uses a threaded pin to secure the whole receiver.

Those racks that rock...sometimes supply a tether that goes from the rack to the car to stop the rocking. Not needed with this one...they say.

i like the 1UP racks for the small cars. the thing sucks up tight against the car when out of service.

I have a massive Kuat. Huge. Heavy. Perfect for my landcruiser.

My buddies have 1UP's. They fold into the trunk!!!

I'll post a pic tomorrow of my reg 24 speed on the rack.
The bike will fit inside easily, but looking for an easier mount for the e-bike.

We have a 4 bike Swagman that is pretty solid but it is beefier than the one that you had posted.

I just recently put a Kuat Sherpa on my wife's CRV and I am impressed by the quality of it and the ease of loading and how secure the bike is on the rack.

Mostly going to using the bike rack for just one bike.
The e-bike will be too heavy to want it in the hatch.

These are not inexpensive, but built with precision milled aluminum.
Actually beautifully made and looks the same after many years and lots of time in rain.

You won’t find a more solid rack or more secure way to hold the bike
It even flips up when not in use.
It is worthy of a nice Propella

I have pretty much the same thing you have.

It's worked great for years.

I would shift the wheel holder around so that your bike wheel/tire isn't quite so close to the exhaust.

Other than that, I have been happy with my Swagman rack and I bet you will be too. I put a bit of closed cell pipe insulation on the top tube of the bike to protect it a bit from the hook.

Just the pressure from the top hook. The hook ratchets down..needs to be released to go up

I just now measured it..12 inches from the muffler.
I switched the front and back spots to be safe.
The Fit's 1.5 litre engine doesn't put out much heat...but better safe than sorry.

Looks like it has a hitch on the end? Just think how many things you can put on!

Huh? It's a Shimano Sora 24 speed gearset.
The shifter is combined with the brakes
