Lewis Hamilton -- is he really this stupid?

I was reading some social media today and found this gem. Lewis Hamilton for the last 3 years has been suing Hamilton Watch Co. Thought I'd share in case others have not seen this.

Lewis Hamilton the driver sued Hamilton the watchmaker to stop Hamilton the watchmaker from trademarking the name “Hamilton” in Europe.

Given that Hamilton has been selling Hamilton watches since 1892 (albeit switching to Swiss ownership in 1972), the fact that the F1 stud’s application to the EU Court managed to survive this long is beyond imagination. But not beyond money, obviously.

Lewis Hamilton is worth some $285m. But not forever, if his handlers enable this is the kind of legal and financial stupidity. From a PR point-of-view, you’d think that his official watch sponsor, IWC, would have moved metaphorical mountains to strangle their “ambassador’s” legal action in its crib. Which they probably did. To no avail.

I've seen some stupid $hite in court but this may take the cake.

Talent and smarts don't always go together. He has always been less than sharp.

Bingo! When was he born? One of Cindy's jewelry items is an old lady Hamilton watch that was her mothers. Engraving on the back was made in 1957.

I read about that and guffawed at that as well.

Next he should sue Tiffany.

vash 12-21-2020 11:09 AM

he shouldnt give any company called Lewis a pass either.

go big, or go home.

To answer your question yes ............ yes he is that stupid and full of himself . You would think someone on his legal team would have said to him " you know they have been around for over 125 years " :D

astrochex 12-21-2020 11:39 AM

Perhaps the watch company can sue him for defamation for bringing this stupidity to court.

I saw that he had to pay some of Hamilton Watch's legal fees but it wasn't much. Far less than it should have been.

The word frivolous comes to mind

.

I am a car guy, and F1 fan.

If in a conversation with anyone where we were not discussing F1 racing or race drivers and they said the name Hamilton, I would likely first think of Alexander Hamilton the first United States Secretary of the Treasury and the guy on our $10 bill.

Second would be the play that bears his name.

Third would be the watch company. I likely would not even think of a race driver with the fantastic luck of driving the fastest car on the field by far. Yes, he is very talented, and can squeeze every bit out of it, but from what George Russell showed, it is the car, not just the driver.

Which is why I prefer pool....there it's the skill and knowledge of the player, not the cue. Pool pros play with a cue made by whoever pays the best sponsorship money. Currently, that seems to be a brand called predator. But really, it's like Nike and shoes...the equipment used doesn't matter as much as the talent of those using it. Does anybody think if Hamilton switched to one of the perennial also ran low bucks teams, they'd win the championship?

Hamilton has three syllables. Many products have three syllable names.

He's just getting started.

I never cared for that whiney, spoiled putz. Shumacher was numero uno in my book, and he raced for Ferrari for Petes sake. In life there is an old saying "what can make you can also break you" I know the sport will do better if he just takes an early permanent retirement. Putz. Hamilton has been around for a long time...

Evidently. The link given in the opening post seems legit.

Racerbvd 12-21-2020 07:11 PM

Yes, he is that stupid, the privileged asswipe even claim racism holds him back. He is one that stupidity should be painful, very painful to be neutered.

smadsen 12-21-2020 08:53 PM

Just proves, once again, driving a race car isn't rocket surgery.

livi 12-21-2020 10:54 PM
