McDonalds going after Popeyes business

I'm not sure about the pickles...but otherwise it looks good.
They also will have one with non-spicy sauce

I'll lay odds on it that McD's sammich looks nothing like that when you get it.

I've never gotten a sandwich at Popeye's and never will. So nothing McD's comes up with will make me ditch Popeye's when I'm craving cajun spicey chicken.

And I also bet - that chicken "patty" - is just that. A patty made of reconstituted chicken meat - not the chicken breast fillet like from Popeyes and Chick-fil-A.

+1 on that. Popeye's twice a year max, but I love the spicy chicken and red beans and rice (which I think must be 1/3 beans, 1/3 rice, 1/3 lard).

You'd lose that bet.

"All three will offer a new fillet of all-white meat chicken and a novel crispy breading. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich serves as a simpler option with the fillet and pickles while the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich arrives with the additional lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise. Meanwhile, those with a more adventurous palate can opt for the Spicy Chicken Sandwich with crinkle cut pickles and spicy pepper sauce"

Maybe my coffee hasn't kicked in good yet....I don't understand if you've never had a sandwich at Popeyes, how would you ditch it?

Chick-fil-A sammiches are pure evil :). I prefer the regular over spicy .... and around here BoJangles is the spicy sammich winner.

Mickey will eventually get one chance ... mebbe..

Depends on one of you suckerz ;)

It's been years since I ate anything from McD's. If I do get something, I get a double quarter pounder with cheese. It's got a good filling, moisture, bread ratio. But I haven't had one in years.

I worked at a Popeyes for a year when I was a kid (1986). I didn't eat chicken again for years afterward, but I can say that at the time, Popeyes made a quality product. We received frozen, raw chicken (whether it was white or dark meat or nuggets). The chicken would be thawed and then spiced (regular or spicy). Then the batter was mixed (dry mix plus wet ingredients). THen the chicken was battered by hand right before it was fried. Also the biscuits were made fresh daily. We had a guy that was the full time biscuit guy. That's all he did was make biscuits every day.

I haven't had Popeyes in many, many years, but the food was/presumably still is good.

Chick Fil A is good, but I only eat it if someone else provides it. I think the reason that everyone likes Chick Fil A is because they put sugar in everything. Everything that I have had from there has a sweetness.

All white meat chicken processed into something they call a fillet? You'll notice many advertise their sammich as all white meat chicken breast fillet. That picture of the McD's sammy screams "I'm processed into a patty"

That thing up top looks like a fat McChicken.

The pic of the McDonalds sandwich came from an article on Yahoo.
It's prob not a pic from McD's

McDonald's had a "Southern" chicken sandwich a few years ago, like 2010. It was a total knock off of Chick Fil A right down to no sauce and a pickle. They were even going to start serving it in a foil bag...

I used to get that in lieu of when I lived in areas without a Chick Fil A. It was a pretty good substitute at times and at times it was not so good.

As for the Popeyes sandwich, I found it way too big and bready (if that is a word).

We have a local owned chain store that started as a dairy, and then got into fast food, and even a small grocery store with fresh fruit and bread and meats.

The chain is called Braum's. They have a chicken sandwich that is for sure a hunk of breast meat and tastes like chicken. They are a total vertical marketing operation.

The grow the alfalfa and grass to feed their own heard of cattle, milk them and make their own ice cream and dairy products. They have their own bakery for the buns but I don't think they have any chicken farms. They do have there own fleet of trucks, and their own construction company to build the stores, and their own repair folks to maintain the stores.

I am in there on a regular basis buying bananas, bread, milk, grapes, fresh baked cookies, and ice cream and more.

I ate at Popeye’s once, stunk like grease and everything tasted like grease, never again.

Love the chicken from Popeyes

We have the same type of farm restaurant/store here also.
It's only open in the summer and they also have tractor pulled buses that tour the milking barn and other parts for a couple bucks.
It's packed every day.

Dang, I haven't had BoJangles in years. We don't have them around here and my sister doesn't live out there any longer.

Chic is too sweet, even the spicy chicken, but the lemonade is good.

I like Wendy's and Popeye's spicy chicken but would rather have the fried chicken at Popeye's or the Wendy's sandwich.

I have not had a non-breakfast food at McDonalds since they stopped with the hot mustard sauce.

I used to occasionally get a chicken sandwich at Wendy's. They used to have limited time offers (many, many years ago) for a "monterey ranch chicken sandwich" that I thought was pretty good. Their spicy chicken isn't bad.

I just so rarely do any sort of fast food these days other than Chipotle.
