My wife has a X3 M40i (her choice). My Porsches are all older air cooled, including an '85 Turbo. I have to say that the M40i is/can be quite an impressive drive. With 45K miles now on it, we have had "0" issues (other than tires). Performance modes are impressive to say the least. I will keep my fingers crossed!

Had an early X5. Sunroof cassette leaked to the point where the entire unit had to be replaced. AOS replaced
Radiator went tango uniform Front brakes TU Door vapor barrier Driver door latch cable stretched so much that you had to get in thru passenger side, replaced That was our last BMW of new vintage.

V8, leaky coolant tube thru block and bad valve guides, LOL.
M62TU was the last of the EDIT: the replacement N63 (curent) is a oil burning battery killing POS as well. Yuck. rjp
