Rebecca Creek may be more refined than you are looking for but it is good.

I think it was Garrison Brothers we tried and liked, but I could have that wrong!

I have heard that Balcones from Waco is very good, I have not found it around here. Yet. Will buy when I find it. May have to make a trip to Mexia for BBQ and Waco for Bourbon.

Old Forester 1920, one of the best out right now that is consistently on the shelves.

To the question of good bourbons/American whisky. Whisky Advocate just put out their Whisky of the Year list. 4 of the top 5 are American.
