Gladly paid $6.00 for two O rings
Finger adjusters for my bicycle Campagnolo brakes. The old ones deteriorated decades ago. Couldn’t get any at bike shops NLA, hardware stores nada.
Saw an on line ad cash only to a US PO Box $0.50 each plus $5.00 shipping. OK, what ever. Didn’t think they come from Serbia (I think). Fit perfectly. Last edited by Hugh R; 01-20-2021 at 05:54 PM.. |

??? It's a Fkin O-ring. Go down to Fastenal. They'll sell you a dozen for $1.

Tried several places none fit right. Yeah that’s what I thought too until I went looking for ones that actually would fit and not slip

I've made worse decisions with hobby money.

Yep, EYEtalian old stuff, I went to ACE, Lowes and HD, and none fit right, granted didn't try other on-line places but since the old one were gone, hard to measure and specify size, this was a bike place and said they were genuine (doubt it) fit Campy brakes.
I've sourced out a few metric nuts and bolts at ACE for nickels and dimes, this one eluded me. Its a Raleigh Pro from the early 1970's and some idiots on e-bay are asking $1,200-$1,500 for these things, which I thought was nutz, until I went into a local bike store to get a couple of 1"x27 tires and saw they were selling new street bikes for up to $30,000. I think I bought it new in 1974 for about $400, I don't remember, but that was when a cheap Raleigh 10 speed was going for $99.

O-rings can be a huge pain in the butt! In a crash I had many, many years ago the o-ring on the front brake of my criterium bike got ripped off. I was lucky as Tom at the closest bike shop to me had lots of Campy spares!

Try finding campy stuff now at the local high-end bike shop, they say "Campy?, no we don't carry Coleman camping parts".

I recently acquired these so I can refurbish some old Record Aero Pedals.
- Very hard to find NOS and certainly not cheap but well worth it IMO. Campagnolo aero pedals, the complete list - Le Cycleur

For the record... This is perfection IMO. (not one of my bikes)
Steal frame with the latest 12 speed components. - Carbon frames are great but one "good" crash and they're ready for the dumpster. (I've broken 3 in the last 20 years )
