Cool. We had a very similar bath here, stupid corner shower, big soaking tub. It was a step down below floor level. First night in the house I went to pee, and walked in the wrong door in the dark, fell down the single step an cracked my head on the tub surround. Came to to paramedics. Refused transport.
We were going to redo anyway, so poured a slab over the existing. Put radient pex in the floor, heated by a little 120v water heater and circ pump. Open shower and freestanding tub.

Good luck w the remodel, sucks while in progress but worth it.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1616000792.jpg

After six weeks of dust, chaos, and inconvenience of living out of cardboard boxes the bathroom is pretty much finished. The contractor left today and won't be back until the new cabinet doors or the new shower door arrive. We have a little touch-up painting to do around the thermostat for the floor heater. Yayyyy!!

The American Standard dual flush toilet wasn't assembled properly from the factory. It was on hold for 45 minutes but finally a human at AS customer service came on the line. She talked me through fixing it. It was a simple fix, but I'm skeptical of this thing. I got it because water is so expensive out here (but electricity is cheap). Last month our electric bill was $120 and my water bill was $69.

MrsWD loves storage. Turning the hallway to the closet into a big storage space was a great move.

One panel on the cabinetry matches the look of the showroom sample. The salesman didn't even hesitate, he agreed the cabinets should look like the sample we ordered from.

The cabinets they sent look like crap. New doors and drawer fronts will take a couple of months to come in. We'll use duct tape for handles until then.

There's a house near me that was built and furnished in the mid-late 50's and has been maintained and preserved exactly as new. It is now a short-term rental for people whom wax nostalgic.

The appliances, decor, everything straight out of mid-century modern.

We're just finishing up a bathroom, ripped out a 2 person garden tub. Installed heated floors and put in a 2 person standup shower, 3 shower/rain heads, and floor to ceiling glass with a steam generator for a soaking steam bath sitting on a bench.
