Got the big C...

We got the C-O-V.........

So after a year with this crap going around, it finally came home to both of us. My wife's an oral surgical assistant, I support the local county schools, police, rescue vehicles from a quality standpoint. So we're about as close to that as can be.

So far, pretty rough overall, my wife is younger but is suffering slightly more. We're both in good health, especially for our age group. Neither of us smoke. It sucks, quarantined for the next 10 or so days. I'm going nuts already........

Best of luck with this. At least it’s not ‘the really big C’...

Seriously though, I hope you guys manage to fight this off and come out the other side strong.

LWJ 03-27-2021 03:22 PM

Good luck.

wdfifteen 03-27-2021 03:22 PM

Sorry to hear it. I hope you both fight this off quickly and get back to normal life.

Well, consider this the perfect time to get the JD ready to fly over to the Suez canal and go free up that ship. :D

Ditto...and be thankful it wasn't the other "big C"....may it be a minor thing for you and your bride.

Just curious...were either of you vaccinated?

To a speedy recovery!

Agree....winced a bit before opening the thread. COVID should be a piece of cake by comparison.

Best wishes, Sir. You should be fine. Well, maybe not fine but I think you will get through it.

Exactly. Cancer patients would love to sit at home for ten days and then be good to go.

Good luck to both of you & keep us updated on your (assumed) progress. I'm glad I had my second shot a few weeks ago and my wife is getting hers next week. Seems to me your wife should have been vaccinated, since she works in healthcare. Take care of yourselves.

asphaltgambler 03-27-2021 07:00 PM

No - we opted out for the vaccine- too many uncertain long term effects.

asphaltgambler 03-27-2021 07:01 PM

Thanks all, very uneasy times right now

Watch out for pneumonia and a blood clot in the lungs.

I'm battling the c pneumonia now. Talk about having the George Floyd syndrome (I can't breathe). A co worker got the pneumonia with blood clot. He was out of work for 5 months.

Tishabet 03-27-2021 09:16 PM

Good luck asphaltgambler, hope you and your wife are back on your feet soon!

Had it back in January, took about two weeks to get completely over that nasty bug. Went to the ER to get Oxygen backpack thing (only way to get one here) and got put on a steroid to help with the lung issues (Dexamethasone). Really helped get over the pneumonia hump. Some weird side effects with rashes, GI tract, loss of appetite, etc. Got the Johnson & Johnson one shot vaccine today per my docs recommendation. This is one nasty virus, sure seems like some engineering went on to get it that potent and affecting so many organs and systems. Just saying......

I got da vax. After i got it i.felt like a load was lifted from my shoulders..one less thing to worry about.

Every time i would go out to the grocery store there was always a risk.. i didnt quite realize how much stress was involved.
