Which color retained the most value overall?

Never would have guessed this one.

Weird, color is WAY down the list of important characteristics when I buy a car.

Same here...how it's equipped takes precedence...

That said, I've liked my dark green cars. A color not mentioned in that NY Times article.

Proof that the NY Times is indeed "fake news".

When I was looking to by a 911, color was a major factor for me. Black cars are great, for the 10 minutes after they are detailed. Then the dust and dirt show up. And a black car is HOT in the sun.

I would have loved a nice Gulf Blue, or even a dark cobalt blue, but in the end I was happy to go with Grand Prix White.

If I was just looking for a cheap appliance commuter car, (gag, shudder) then color would not be a factor. Same for if I wanted a old work pickup.

I had a '69 912 in light Ivory. It was the easiest color to take care of...

Color is definitely important to me .

Color is a factor for me, even with my pedestrian vehicles

Some of the rich, newer colors I see on cars today are fantastic. I did a dump run yesterday and there was a new Tundra in a beige I had not seen on a truck before. It looked great.

The best color on a car I have owned was the 964 in Amazon Green.

Color is way down the list for me a well because I automatically eliminate any red, or black cars (won't even consider them)...i'm just never going to own another one of each.

We tend to like white, and green cars.

Sounds like its actually high on your list as you are picky and eliminating some right off the bat..

Same for me. Color choice is a huge factor when buying..

I saw an aqua coloured 911 once. I think it would be best described as aqua. Sort of a bluey green colour. Fun, but still subtle.

Color and how that color looks on the vehicle are at the top of the list for me even with a DD. Equally important is how that vehicle feels. If it doesn't look and feel right I walk away. With the amount of time spent in a vehicle I need to like the way it looks and feels. I would never own a gray or silver car they just disappear into the atmosphere like a battleship. Well I could live with silver if the car was German and had an oxblood or Saddle leather interior.

I just couldn't imagine wearing a shirt, suit or shoes that didn't look and fit correctly, why would I drive a vehicle that didn't look or feel right?

All of my 911's have been black except for the the current one which is Racing Yellow which I'm very happy with.

I thought Red was Re-sale Red?
It's tough to be green when you go to sell.
Grand Prix white is my favorite white, painted the race car GP white.
White is the only color my wife wants for her car.

My current 911 is black and looks awesome.
Although black sucks in too much shape so not the best color for a widebody.

One day I think I'll own a car or truck in Seafoam (blue/green), it's just such a happy summer color.

I wasted one of my NYT's free clicks on that article, oh well.

Good luck on finding a paint shop that will paint a complete Porsche.
Porsche owners are not their favorites
