In case it's of interest, here is a document issued from the US Navy during the period following WWII concerning behavior and policy of of US sailors aboard the ship my father was stationed on at the time, the USS Bon Homme Richard (CV - 31).
It's a scan, but the original document was worn and torn so may be hard to read unless you enlarge it a bit. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1617625817.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1617625817.jpg |
Well said Les. Lest we forget. Any documentary or war movie particularly WW2 gets my attention. If only Hitler had been assassinated early in the war it might have saved millions of people. So sad.

My Dad was a Carrier Pilot at Okinawa -- I believe off the Hornet --VF-17 -Hellcats.
He never said much --except That many Kamikaze planes were not painted -- and the small ships caught hell when hit. Him and his buddies rarely spoke about it and to a man would say the heros were the guys who did not make it . Oh and if you asked any of em --they had no problem with the A bomb --He often said he figured he might of bought it if we invaded. |
I can understand that... "The A bomb" saved a lot of American and Japanese lives.
And Nukes have ended more wars than they've started. |
