forget electric cars, hydrogen is the future

Hydrogen cars are electric cars. I had a chemistry professor at UCSD that said in 1975 that hydrogen was the future for vehicles. Dr Hans Osterreicher. I tried to get HNDNBRG as a personalized plate for my Mirai, but it was already taken. At least I got it as my username with Toyota Financial Services.

Hydrogen is very difficult to contain/transfer, low density, environmental effects unknown, and the ICE configuration is a dead horse on steroids.

Other than that, the tech sound like it has potential.

I wonder if creating hydrogen from other hydrocarbons is energy efficient.

the idea is to use PV solar power to split water

I'm dubious but there is a lot of interest by people who should know

"hydrogen is the future"....I'm 67 and remember hearing that in grade school.

Hydrogen powered fuel cell cars might eventually work. GM is spending a lot of money on it.

If we fill our tanks with water, pump that through a chamber with metered sodium pellets and use the gas pressure to run a turbine generator while collecting the hydrogen to use in the fuel cell. You can then use hydrochloric acid to turn the sodium hydroxide back into water and salt. Recycle the water... :)
