I don't care for them on my windshield but haven't had one in a long time since I do all my own oil changes. At least I used to before my HA. I keep a log book of all gas fillups. Miles/cost/date/miles per gallon. Have one for each car I've owned since, well, forever as I started doing it just like Dad did it when I bought my first car. Oh, wait, I didn't do one for that POS. But I did it for all the others.
My Honda's have sold for asking price because of the log books.

I have multiple methods, none of which involve a sticker on my windshield.

I use a spreadsheet, since I collect all my fuel receipts and monitor mileage.

But most cars get done at 5,000 or 10,000 intervals, so I can go by the odometer. Some cars are annual, a change in spring when it comes out of storage.

Easy to remember when I change oil every 5000 miles.
Just look at the odometer, dummy....

You could just write it on the back of your hand! :D

I used to be totally unorganized, but now I write notes on everything and it's out of control. Furnace filters, oil filters, air filters all have the install date written on them. Kitchen spices and other food packages have the purchase date on them. MrsWD is going to wake up some morning with 12-27-2011 on her forehead if I don't get myself under control.

My ex threw out a full bottle of Tums...it was a smaller bottle I used for travel instead of the econo size. Her reasoning was the sell by date was past. Tums are a ROCK, you stupid twit!

My Cayman had a sticker on the windshield when I got it. Still there 6 years later. I guess I dont care. I do my own oil changes, every 5000 miles and record it on the Carfax site.

I change my oil at the first hint of the oil getting a shade darker. I would lose sleep if I had to wait for an idiot light, or a reminder from someone else. And the sticker on the windshield is ugly as hell. You've got to be 80+ years old and driving an old Dodge van for that to look OK.

I didn't know you can reset the oil change indicator for a different mileage figure. I have an '02 Silverado. How do I do that? Would like to drop it down to around 2K.....

To answer your question Fred - I don't use them. Just go by the computer on the truck and then a notebook on my classics. ;)

I like them I just had an oil change today. They're easy enough to remove from the windshield.
I remember working in a gas station in the 70's and we put reminder stickers inside the drivers door.
Now those stickers were tough to remove. We just put the new sticker over the old one.
Do they still have those?

They dont bug me...

I staple them to the receipt and put it in the glovebox.

I don’t know about the Chevy, but on my F150, I go to settings on the instrument cluster. I set mine at 80%, to change it early.

Sharpie on a 3/4" wide piece of invisible tape in the upper corner of the windshield.
I don't change my oil every 3k on the daily driver with all highway miles. Other cars I am changing oil because its been a year even though not enough miles.
