Solid State Batteries - Toyota
|
This will be interesting to watch the transition from R&D to production to see if the performance claims hold. It would potentially make electric a viable alternative to gas. Though you still have the problem of a limited charging infrastructure outside of urban areas and an electric grid with little additional margin for millions of electric cars being charged at the same time. Neither of which will be quick to sort out.

I wonder if the new Tundra will have these... I really can’t wait for its release.

Interesting.
"Its all about the batteries," lol. Toyota has been looking at the future for a long time. See, e.g., https://www.tri.global/ https://toyota-ai.ventures/ https://www.woven-planet.global/ Big news recently from Woven: https://www.woven-planet.global/news-release/20210427 $800 million in capital to invest: https://www.woven-planet.global/woven-capital An example of just one company's myriad initiatives in the Future of Mobility. There are myriad others. Things are changing very quickly, lots of opportunities with the changes. |
