But to make it worse there'll also be a soap shortage which will make washing the car virtually impossible!

Didn't I already dispense that wisdom in another thread? Seriously though, I make it fresh. Or I'll go to a place that has a chef who is professionally trained. Too dangerous to eat real sushi that is not fresh and has not been checked for parasites.

You told us about the great pay the wonderful wine in CA here:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/1074751-why-do-people-stay-california.html
Maybe you can use the money to buy bottled water and wine?
Edit:
You later mentioned that you plan on getting out at some point. Maybe move to another state and that will reduce the demand for water?

From an environmental point of view, cities in many places should have never been built. It was inevitable that there would be a problem when the demand for resources is unsustainable. Seriously time to get out of Dodge.

It's actually much worse in Calfornia. The air quality control board will fine you if you have blowing dust on your property. If you put water down to control the dust, the flood control district will fine you if the water drains into the city gutter because in their definition you are polluting the discharge basins. And if the water that you put down to control dust causes weeds to grow, then the cities will fine you for having weeds and if you till the weeds under, then the air quality board will be back for creating dust again.

Why would anyone want to leave such a wonderful setup?
