Well, that depends on my work. Generally, I try and take that day off, start at the beach with some surfing, then hit the bike trails, by that point the gun range where I am a member is open, so I kill some paper. After that another bike ride and hit a few dive bars. I Generally finish up at a nice steak house for dinner and then the club, enjoying a refreshing beverage on the water.
I Generally do this alone as it is my day.

For me
"Everyday a holiday, every meal a feast." I try to catch the vibe in that statement daily. For others around my or in my tribe, besides good ongoing communication of appreciation and affection, I try to annually and at random send some hand written note or meaningful gift-never on their birthday. I do try to recognize their/my mother on that day as that date likely means more to her than to them/me.

Wife's birthday is just 4 days prior, so we usually have a combined family dinner out for steaks or something somewhere.
My b-day also falls on/during our typical Spring Break, so I get a week off work with pay to celebrate Should my b-day be the Friday before or Monday after, I put in a leave form. Actual day-of depends on the weather and mood, but I usually take the day to myself and go fishing or shooting or both or .... |

I go out to the mail box and think "Ha, that's odd. No birthday cards or boxes of chocolates." Must be something wrong with the post.
I usually go to my regular (happy place) restaurant with my usual restaurant buddies. |

B-day B-job after being caught getting a year older...
I try to sneak it by, but someone always makes a big deal of it and then we have to go to dinner and stuff. People usually get me cigars because that's the one thing that is a sure hit with me. |

Mayonaise cake, almost every year since I was a kid. Otherwise, it didn't happen.

I like Byron’s philosophy “This is my day so leave me the f$&k alone.”

Yeah, I usually don't do anything special. I'll be 56 this year September 15th if anyone is interested.
Maybe there should be a "Happy Birthday" sticky on here so we can wish each other Happy Birthday. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

I work in the entertainment industry, so last year I had nothing but time.
Plus, because of the nature of my work, I work really odd hours.

I usually call my brother and wish him a happy birthday. Been sharing it with him for the last 68 years (he's two yrs younger to the day than me).
Used to have a really nice steak, baked potato, salad and a beer, then cake. That will/did change this year since my heart problem. Just glad to be upright now.

On my birthday, I wake up on or near a mountaintop. It is the one backpacking trip I promise myself every year.

I was given the following book for my birthday: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094NMRWPJ And so far I like everything. So I spent my birthday reading a new novel.
