Joni Mitchell Blue 50 yrs ago
https://jonimitchell.com/music/album.cfm?id=5
It just blows my mind when I realize that so many important things in my life are half a century on now. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Among those great songs is Little Green which just breaks my heart every time.

One of the great albums of all time.
She is, to me, the best...my favorite musician. This album, particularly 'Amelia' was the equal to Blue in my mind. https://jonimitchell.com/music/album.cfm?id=10 ![]()

I didn't have the correct appreciation of her when I was in high school and her big album was "Court and Spark"
I've since gotten religion and see her as one of the giants of a magical era in music. Watch her craft "Coyote" in the movie "Echo in the Canyon" Then there's this:

And wrote songs that mortal humans couldn’t dream of.
“A case of you” is a prime example.

I fell in love with Joni the first time I heard Court in Spark in 1976
A little crazy Voice of an angel, musical genius, and a hockey fan (but the Leafs) There's no place to stop. OK, one more

Such a simple lyric...still brings chills:
Oh you're in my blood like holy wine You taste so bitter and so sweet Oh I could drink a case of you darling Still I'd be on my feet

Raised On Robbery is one of my gig staples. I remember doing a farmers market with the Ferals and that song got more cash thrown into the case than any other that day.
I'm still not familiar with even a fraction of her work. She is an artist on so many facets. Best Les

Joni as a fabulous back up. There is just something about her voice behind this song.

I was watching the Gordon Lightfoot documentary on Amazon "If You Could Read My Mind" last night (very good btw) and they talked about Joni and that era when there were so many great "folk" artists coming out of Canada.
Gord, Joni, Neil Young, Ian and Sylvia, Anne Murray, just a ton of talent.
