my new blow dryer sucks

I shower both at night and morning. Without a shower, I can't sleep but hate sleeping with wet hair. Finally my blow dryer gave up the ghost. Went to Target and bought another only to discovered this thing will not blow hot hair continuously. It cycles between the hot and cool air every 20 seconds or so. WTF. Drives me nuts. Too many lawyers? Must go back and see about getting anther that will not cycle like that. This is like the factory setting in the shower control vales. Its preset at factory to lukewarm at full hot so the user wouldn't get burn. Fooking BS.

Porsche Design has been making hair driers since 1939. The best ones are the models that have a fan speed of 1.3 revolutions to 1 of the armature. The fan is driven via belt with no cycling or shutdown due to thermostat interrupt. They are quite a blast of air.

Most models were Fooking equipped until later years. Factory settings seemed to like the mid range and higher speeds for spirited styling. Oddly most models shared a special smell after use that has been described as something like mohair and motor oil cologne which seemed to linger for decades.

These hair driers have been known to keep people up at night.

The easy solution is to shave your head. No more hair dryer needed!

I have not seen that kind of setting but most if not all hairdryers come with a cooling option now because research has shown the cool setting reduces frizz by allowing the hair shaft to lay flat.

My suggestion: return it and try another.

I know: put that on the list of things you never thought you would read about here.

Humble brag hair-boy.

I’m a towel away from a dry head. A face towel will suffice

I didn't know men still used blow driers (since disco and long hair went out of fashion in the 80s). Too much work for such limited return. Just get a short hair cut and it dries almost instantly...on its own.

Yep, absolute crap. Give me a hot knob and a cold knob, so I can go full on, full off or anything in between on either.

My wife has a Dyson. Seriously expensive, but worth it...

One of my buddies has a flat top. He has had the same haircut style since the 1960s. He has never used shampoo or a blow dryer. Just the same bar soap for head and body. Towel dry, his hair sticks straight up.

My wife has one also and says the same thing. She loves it.

I have no hair so I have no wet hair issues. Maybe Look should shave his head and forget the wet hair.

I can’t believe there is a thread on blow dryers and I’m about to contribute to one, but I absolutely love my Harry Josh dryer. Expensive but well worth it.
