Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Car Commercials new and old
Thought I would start a new vehicle related thread.
Car commercials……. To start things off for everyone’s enjoyment, because we all can use a laugh in today’s world. A collection of Ford Pinto commercials. At the 5 minute mark, they compare steering to a Porsche. Cheers Bugs https://youtu.be/fHDs9_738r0

Well, it was rack & pinon on the Pinto. Most USA cars were still using worm gear at the time.
Here's a fun one from Ford. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZzXHq7gKN8 and one from GM.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrIk2_XDqXc

The Lexus commercials make me want to put my foot through the tv.
It is a re-badged Toyota. A Japanese car. Why do the commercials have a broad with a snooty British accent doing the voice over?? no offense to my British pelicans.... .

Car commercials new and old?
The new ones showing every crossover doing a huge drift should be the basis of lawsuits against manufacturers when their model is involved in a higher speed wreck.
They planted the seeds. I can't get a car to drift on the streets w/o a huge effort and some hard-on-the-gas pedal work. IOW, invariably just the act violates several vehicle code laws. And I don't know anyone who plows through a muddy wash or shallow river unless there are at least two confederate flags flying on the vehicle and a skull and crossbones to fill out the stereotype. I must have a couple of those as distant relatives in AL with the hair shaved on the sides while sporting a mullet. Tat'd up, of course. They are wholesale morons. |
