Nice! Yeah, I prefer for them to not be in the house, myself.
What kind is he? We had a bunch of crap in the garage, old ceiling fans, old carpet and padding that we'd removed, etc... It was a prime playground for sneks. A couple of weeks ago, we had someone haul it all off. I found 2 snek skins while getting ready for them to take the stuff and one snek. I'm a little concerned now that there's less appealing places for the sneks to hang out, I'll end up with a mouse problem. I guess we shall see.

Yellow rat snake. Though they can bite, they are non-venomous and Mostly Harmless. They do have a stinky poo defense mechanism.
This guy bopped my hand a couple of times (no teeth, didn't even open his mouth) as I grabbed him and then he got all comfy on my, wrapped around my arm, and hung out for a while before slithering off onto the offered shed. |

Had to go into my shed for a ladder today (first time in at least a year). Two 4+ foot long sheds/skins were hanging from the low rafters. I am happy to have black snakes/rat snakes (which is probably what they are)...but I would really prefer not to encounter any up close. It did give me the creeps in that dark shed.

It is beautiful! I have found that if you gently pick up a snake they usually won't bite. usually! We have water snakes at the lake that will bite even if not provoked. They are just mean. We also have speckled king snakes that will swim over your raft and not even give you a second look.
