My Tele-Marketer Calls Have Suddenly Increased ??
I just initiated a mortgage refinance. I'm going thru the same mortgage company that did the original mortgage.
Literally, as soon as I completed the application thru their bank website program, I started getting mortgage lending telemarketer calls - about 10 per day (this morning's call was at 7am). What is up with this? Is the program that my lender uses, using a software that is selling my info? Or is the my computer spying on me and selling the info? On the brighter side, I've also been getting telemarketer calls for extended auto warrantee. I like to let them go through their entire sales pitch and then they ask me my car make (Porsche) and then they ask model (911s) and then they ask me the mileage (55,000) and then they ask me the year (1974). Click! Feels good when they don't want my business. |
It ebbs and flows with me. Did a refinance last year and don't think it had a huge impact on how many I get. Some days I'll get a couple, some days none. I used to block the numbers but they are 99% spoofs anyways and they change constantly so it's pretty much useless.

Might be my imagination, but the scam calls seem to increase in number on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I don't know, but if you don't answer the calls, you will never know if you are getting the best deal. I suggest you start answering.

Yes, I know it's a reputable company when I can hear a crying baby in the background. Must be working from home.

I applied on-line with bank rate dot com and after pressing submit, my cell phone rang within 2 seconds. I asked the guy - he admitted they pay for a service that auto-dials the info off the web site.
