I have a very bad hip. So bad that I can't jog and must use a cane to walk any distance over 50 yards...but I can pedal a bicycle.

It may be good, but if you apply torque to the pedals, it stresses the knees.
The most torque is applied when starting , going uphill and up wind.

E motor takes out the worst of the overload and leaves just the good movement

This is my neighbors he is having me fix. it needed new batteries and a general service. I put a slightly smaller front sprocket on it so its easier. The electric motor makes it go faster than i would like but it works really well. Nice that its a basic 24v system that every chinese scooter uses makes it easier and cheaper to get parts.
