Young Frankenstein
 

My wife and I are watching the movie Young Frankenstein . Not sure how many times we have watched it but we are 10 minutes in and already laughing our butts off . What a comedy classic . Frau Blucher .......... Gold !!!

You prob know it...the monster in that scene was played by the late Peter Boyle...the grandfather in Everyone Loves Raymond.

And John Lennon was Best Man at his wedding.

No...I did not know that.
Seems like a very unlikely relationship...very cool though.

I recall seeing the blooper reel takes from that movie - the actors couldn't keep straight faces either!

Just the mindset of playing charades while being mauled by the monster is hilarious 😁 . And Terri Garr is a hottie with great comedic delivery . The policeman sticking the darts in his wooden arm ......... more comedy gold .

One of my couple friends had gone on a vacation with another two couples and they stayed at private cabin near a local lake. After a week of the cabin they all wanted to go to town for a dinner and movie, and went to see Young Frankenstein and of course loved it.

That evening after they went to their respective separate rooms one of the ladies started singing Oh what mystery of love like in the movie. The rest of the folks died laughing, and none of the ladies admitted which one sang out, so it was just the voice heard through the doors to the rooms.

^^^ Peter Boyle must have really liked the character he was cast as.

And then it was Marie!

A great actor. Surprised there isn't more love for him.

I heard that Mel brooks wanted to use a zipper sound like unzipping a suitcase for that scene, a really long zipper sound and the censors said no way, that was too suggestive and they would rate it X if he did.

^^^ Not surprising.
And what good would that do?

I don't think a scene like that would be allowed these days. Basically a comedy rape scene that worked out well.

Like stuff in Airplane!
