Mover Recommendation

Hi Gang,

Does anybody have a recommendation of good moving company that can transport
a bedroom set and a refrigerator from Whittier California to Glendale California? About 30 miles.

(A pair of chairs, dresser, and armoire and a refrigerator)

Thanks

You may want to look at U Haul. They have small containers that you load and they transport. We used them last year.

Not too sure about that short of mileage though. Also, scheduling drop off and pick up may be a little painful for such a small load.

If you are there and can do it, I'd just rent the big U Haul trailer and DIY for local move. No mileage charge like on a truck.

I have used companies like “two men and a truck”, there are all sorts of those companies with similar names.

It’s quite a bit cheaper just to move it yourself in a rented truck, I assume you have reasons you don’t want to do that.

You can try these guys:
https://afatherandsonmoving.com/

And I've used Wetzel and Sons before:

Both good solid companies.

Thanks Guys.

These suggestions are great. I want to do it myself. . . wifey has her reasons why I cannot.

I did not remember who did my local LA move and looked them up for you in my email archives. Sure enough:

Wetzel and Sons Moving and Storage Inc.
“Your Best Move is to Move With the Best”
12400 Osborne St Pacoima, CA 91331
Phone: (310) 975-7060 Ext: 2210 Fax: 818-890-2102

These guys were first class. Small "one stop shop" company. Be VERY weary of any large companies that do not run the entire move with their own people, trucks, facilities. Those guys will farm things out to the lowest bidder, it will be horrible. (Ask me how I know).

Does your local Lowes, or Home Depot have a full sized pickup truck that can be rented...some of them have a Tommy lift on the back for lifting heavy/bulky items.

I’ve got access to a truck and a refrigerator dolly. I could to it in a day with some help. Wife wants pros to deal with the lifting etc.

Of course if a couple of local Pelicans want to come over and help I’ve got beer, steaks and a fully equipped garage :)

Thanks to the professional mover suggestions. If their quotes seem unreasonable I may be doing it myself after all.

My wife was amazed how you guys came through for us. Admittedly we were cutting it close with the date of my mother in law’s escrow closing date rapidly approaching, but fortunately Father and Sons Moving Co. were able to squeeze us into their schedule.

Thanks Everyone.
