Electronic fax

We mostly fax electronically through our machines but are looking to get rid of the copper lines. We would go to either a virtual fax server or cloud based.

Any recommendations on a cloud based service? We would need something with unlimited pages since we fax a lot during the day between doctors offices and therapy.

Why not just scan and email? If the file is really big, use Google or send it in a zip file.

I take it you have not worked with doctor's offices? We do send encrypted email to that that will accept it.

(No offense Tobra)

There's all kinds of restrictions on how Medical professionals can communicate.

This is one reason why the offices prefer fax, the don't like to be bothered with emails that are encrypted and with HIPAA many are encrypted.

You mean they are probably unaware, don't use a real email client and don't want to pay or don't know who to pay to help them set up PGP keys and install a plugin or two.

We use rightfax. It requires a server, but that server can be in the cloud. Ours is virtual on prem. Some like it, some hate it. I think a lot of the hate is because of the person who rolled it out. He doesn't work here anymore.

Still better than the woman printing off a 100+ page patient chart, putting each page in a fax machine, then putting the output of the fax machine into a confidential bin.
I hope she doesn't work here anymore either.

Thanks guys. I will take a look at those. I don't mind setting it up virtual on prem.

Id10t, they (dr offices) don't like any new technology. If they could get away with it they would prefer hard copies delivered by courier.
