Here comes the white stuff

Five minutes before I took this pic, it was not snowing at all and the grass was uncovered.

Weird! :D

Enjoy! Hope the tires on the fit get you where you need to go.

It's 73º and muggy here. The problem is it's too warm to kick on the heat and too cool to kick on the AC so I'm stuck with the humidity. But in the next 2-3 hours, we are supposed to drop to 60, so I'll eventually be able to kick on the heat and dry things out.

I enjoyed snowy winters when I lived someplace that they were expected. I'm not however looking forward to a repeat of last year's shennanigans.

The 10 day temperature forecast for here 'is well above average'....so this is only a two day thing.

fireant911 12-06-2021 06:39 AM

stevej37,
I am a bit north of you (Upper Peninsula). Our snow started yesterday morning at about 10:00 and by 5:00 that evening we had about 8" of new snow on the ground! I had to run the snowplow for the first time this season. It is still snowing this morning and it appears that it will not be letting up for a bit. Being a recent transplant to Michigan (from Alabama in Sept 2020) I am dealing with this season's snow MUCH better than I did last year.

stevej37 12-06-2021 06:45 AM

^^^ Yeah, I saw that the reason is cold air coming straight out of the north...and the warmer temps of the Great Lakes causing the quick change to snow. Our over-night temp and tomorrow are supposed to be in the teens and twenties.

I haven't used the snow-thrower yet...but it might be soon.
8 inches of new snow is a lot....esp with wind.

I thought a new load of Peruvian Marching Powder was coming in..

stevej37 12-06-2021 07:01 AM

I woulda thought Snowdonia..

The only thing America excels at is getting high...intoxicated.

We got hammered with about 8” last night. Has let up for now with 1-3” more on the way. Hovering around 32° so it’s heavy but still blowable. 45 mph intermittent winds out of WSW.

stevej37 12-06-2021 08:19 AM

^^ Our winds haven't picked up yet...sounds like they will soon.

john70t 12-06-2021 08:22 AM

The weather prediction chart sez it will snow here on Friday and be 42deg.

The radar map sez duck 'n cover, asap.

Wednesday for NE Ohio. Assuming you are east of Akron/Cleveland.

ckelly78z 12-06-2021 09:26 AM

Northern Ohio, and really windy from the SouthWest. It is spitting a few snow flakes now, but 1-2" snow tonight...will probably melt tomorrow and produce even more mud in my barnyard.

stevej37 12-06-2021 09:49 AM

^^
It let up here about an hour ago, but now it's snowing harder and the wind has about doubled.
Straight out of the north...it's on the way to your place!

mjohnson 12-06-2021 11:04 AM

Ummm.

That'll be mjohnson, Los Alamos NM 87544. Please ship express, we don't want it to melt.

I just watered the garden yesterday, and in normal years we're snowier than NW Michigan. The CO ski areas are barely open...

stevej37 12-06-2021 01:45 PM

Just like that...the wind stopped. Now the temp goes down biggly.

cabmandone 12-06-2021 01:59 PM

Yeah, I saw that nonsense on my way back down from Wellston/Manistee. Sorry I didn't stop by! My intent was to give you a shout on my way back down but we hit a complete sh.t storm on Sunday. We had snow/ice from Wellston down to just North of Grand Rapids on Sunday.

My brother and I went out with fishing with a river guide on the big Manistee river at about 8 a.m Sunday morning. It was overcast and a really light snow. By the time we got off the river (caught some nice steelhead) I had 3" of snow on the tonneau cover of my truck. I looked at my brother and said "we might be staying an extra night!"

stevej37 12-06-2021 02:08 PM

^^^ WB! I was thinking how the roads get up there...they don't keep them in the best condition.
Wellston is in the middle of nowheres! (Lake County is known for it's poor road maint)

Good that you made it back with no problems. The roads are bad here now.. but they are talking about a good warm-up for the next week.

was outside all weekend in shorts and flipflops, almost got sunburned.

My penance for this arrogance will come in summer.
