Tires

My 1969 911t needs new tires. Would like a summer performance tire. Tires on now are Yokohama AVS ES100 in 205 / 60R15 that I bought in August, 2006. Getting a little crusty.

Looking at Yokohama Advan A052.

I don't drive very often and never in the snow or ice. Very, very seldom in the rain as we don't get much rain.

Any recommendations for a 205 / 60R15? Want to put something on before selling the car.

I don't think there are ANY summer performance tires in 205-60-15.

The Advan A052 is a 205-50-15.

I think your best bet is going to be to try to find a "sporty" all season tire if you're dedicated to 205-60-15.

A052 is at the top of the heap 200TW Ultra-max-super-crazy-hyper performance summer tires

Only a blonde pubes thickness away from a dot track tire. Hard to beat GRMs analysis of this category of tires

Found the Yokohamas at Tire Rack in 205/50R15. Not set on 50 aspect but if I recall correctly I was pushing it in 2007 with the 205 50s.

However, looking at the GRM site perhaps better to keep shopping. Don't have the type of camber referenced.

What wheels are you running on it?

The wheels are 15" Fuchs.

Perhaps the Kumho ECSTA V730?

I run toyo r888r on my lotus. 100tw near racing tire, but I dont have many options in my size.

It is fine, as I dont drive in the cold or rain. The grip level is much higher than any rational person should test on public roads. probably last 7-8k miles without track days. they have a 205/50/15

for max performance street use I would pick any of them off of GRMs 200tw list that come closest to the size you want.

RS-4s and RE01 would be my pick but I don't think they are available.

aschen - thank you! Looks like that might be a winner.

Coker Tire still has tires in classic sizes.
You can get a 205/60/15 BFG or Vredestein.

That’s what I just installed on the M3.

Thank you all for the great recommendations. As always, terrific responses and suggestions. I think I'll go with the Kumhos. After the new year, I'll post some pictures of my German girlfriend with her new shoes!

^^^ Good choice! Kumhos are excellent tires.
