My sister had a horse that liked to kick. It got her shovel while she was mucking out the stall. Nearly killed her according to her husband. Spent time in the hospital and now does a lot of yoga to relieve the after effects.
That horse made for some really nice glue as I recall. |

I got off incredibly lucky. Just a bit of soreness this morning. As I was cleaning the old boy's hooves this afternoon I got to see the "relieve the discomfort kick" from a better angle. :D I guess it is sort of like shaking a cramp out of your hand. Best Les |
I love horses but they can punt you into the end zone. You are lucky indeed.

My dad was kicked in the chest hard enough to push him through the closed barn doors.
Horses scare me. When out on the mountain bike, I give equestrians a wide berth when I encounter them on the shared trails. |

One of the "Stakes" Horses I groomed once a week, I still remember it's name (Set a Limit), was groomed by an old black man who had been grooming for decades. Mr. Henry. Mr Henry told me two things about Set a Limit: "He is dumber than a chicken..." and "don't go into the stall without this rake", he handed it to me, "or you'll wish you had." |
