Zack Snyder's Justice League

I've enjoyed the Henry Cavill Superman, Gal Gadot WW (haven't seen 1984 yet), Batman, and Suicide Squad movies so I was very curious about Justice League. When it was first released, it didn't seem to get great reviews. I recently discovered that there was a directors cut that folks seemed to like much better, so I bought a copy in December. It's sold as "Zack Snyder's Justice League."

(I like the Jason Momoa Aquaman character, but the movie was just so/so, worth a watch, but not great).

I didn't realize until I was over half through with the Zack Snyder version that it's 240 minutes long. Holy, moly. It is a LOOOOOOOONG movie. But I did enjoy it. Superman and Wonder Woman were what I expected. Batman (Afleck) didn't really seem to play a huge role. He was in it plenty, but he mostly faded to the background. I think that Jason Momoa's Aquaman character was great, although there was very little water for him to work in. It feels like that might have been a little more on point, but not a big deal. I liked how the Flash kid played a bigger role. Cyborg played a big role, but somehow he's also kind of forgettable.

I enjoyed it, but I did watch it over two evenings, mostly because I didn't realize it was so long so didn't plan to watch in one sitting.

I find no entertainment in the avengers movies. Saw a part of some justice league on a plane and it was the same schlock.

Recently friend said “oh, but did you see zack Snyder justice league? Oh cuz it’s much better.” Well I gave it 15 miserable minutes and just couldn’t find any care for any of the good guys. Bad guys, meh. Friend insisted it gets better. Watched another 30 minutes and was definitely rooting for the monsters to shred everyone to hamburger with their spike armor. Not watching any more.

I don’t hate all superhero movies but avengers and justice league are such bland stew.

I’ve watched hbos watchmen series a few times, love it. Jeremy irons is hilarious and Regina king is spectacular. Jean smart. Just awesome writing and acting. I lol every time - my only complaint is the hick bad guys are boring.

I recently saw on HBO plus they had the full Director cut Hobbit trilogy, as well as the Lord of the Rings. They are 3 hours or so each. I had only seen parts of one of them before, and never a big fan of the books. It was a entertaining way to kill a day with crappy weather outside.

The directors cuts are often crazy long, and just no way to have a movie that long in a theater without a couple of intermissions.

It seems like when I was a teen in the 80s most movies were ~1.5 hours. And the long movies were 2 hours. These days, the short movies seem to be 2 hours, regular movies are 2.5 hours and the long movies are 3 hours or more.
