Before he was known he would pop into a pub I used to frequent in Marin. I saw him there twice and he would tell a joke to someone and before you knew it he had the whole bar in stitches. An impromptu stand up routine. I could tell white powder was involved but what a quick wit that guy was. He landed Mork and Mindy shortly after that time and he was gone to the big leagues. He had a fancy house in the napa valley on a mountain the California Tour would ride over. A few years ago I rode my bike to the top to watch the pros zip past, so did a hundred other cyclists. I was at the back of the pack on the way back down and there was a beat up old pick up truck tailgating the crap out of us. I was irritated and the guy next to me looks back and says it's Robin Williams. I looked back, sure enough it's Robin, with a huge grin. He was a cyclist and he was having some fun with us.

I remember watching "Happy Days" back when it was first showing. Robin, as the Mork from Ork charterer battled Fonzie and it was hysterical. I remember thinking that guy is great, I hope they bring him back. They gave him a show of his own of course.

I drive through the Robin williams tunnel almost daily between his Marin house and SFO... SO yeah, every day... introduced out kids to him recently, still works !

I've always liked the movie Dead Poets Society.
"Oh Captain my Captain" |
RW was so much more enormously talented than other performers that Hollywood just didn't even know what to do with him. Like having a 5,000 horsepower Porsche 550.
My favorites: The Birdcage Good Will Hunting Good Morning Vietnam Plus.....the man could stand in front of an audience and make up jokes until the place clears because peoples' stomachs were hurting from laughing. |

Birdcage, Robin was supported with a stellar cast. Seen these clips dozens of times and still laugh. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/65zrAtyEHCA" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Last weekend I watched a Mrs. Doubtfire with the kids again. Several years ago, I ditched our cable TV for NETFLIX. I couldn’t afford cable anyway, and Netflix allows us the opportunity to view lots of family-friendly shows. Do you know that there're ways to Get Netflix for cheap? I found a source with useful information and tricks how to do it.Hope it helps.

Loved Mork & Mindy.
Agree he seemed unable to do a bad movie. His standup wasn't really for me. Kinda funny but more spastic than intelligent. He was surely a gift to the world. |
