Filled up at a Mapco station yesterday and paid $3.69 a gallon. I've been driving my Dad's 2009 Lexus RX 350 and on a trip last week I was getting an average of 31 mpg on the highway, I was amazed!!!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d04339c070.jpg

^^^
Those have the 3.5 naturally aspirated engine if I'm not mistaken. My Highlander has the 3.5. It is mind blowing to me how they squeeze the mileage out of these SUV's.

Yes it is the 3.5 naturally aspirated. I am really enjoying this car for sure.
I have a 2000 Lexus RX 300 that my Dad gifted to me a few years ago, just put a newer engine in it last year, (3.0), it doesn't get anywhere near the fuel economy that the RX 350 is getting.

295hp, curb weight around 4000 lbs, 5000 lb towing capacity and can seat up to 7 people. I'll take the 31 mpg.

stevej37 03-21-2022 08:59 AM

^^^ I can fit a dozen in my Fit...(maybe not all sitting) :D

I saw 90L of used canola oil at the recycle depot last week. I may have to pickup a used 80's Mercedes diesel car. That's $150+ worth of free fuel. :)

KFC911 03-21-2022 03:21 PM

It's 3.94 at my "go to" station now. I'm pretty sure I'll be speeding when I go get some :D

We drove from La Crosse to Davenport last weekend.
La Crosse is a company town for gas, the home of Kwik Trip. 95% of the gas stations in town are Kwik Trips. Gas has come down a bit, 87 is $3.69 at most stations, except the one by the Woodmans, which is a employee owned grocery store that also sells gas, and the Kwik Trip near that store is $3.59. Once out of town, 87 went from $3.84 to 3.94 to $3.99, and stayed around $4.04 or $3.99 into Iowa all the way to Davenport. Fun fact - Kwik Trip is Kwik Star in Iowa, and they're trying to undercut the gas price to gain market share. So the BPs and such were $3.99, other stations were lower, but I found a Kwik Star at $3.68, next to a Quik Stop at $3.80.

They do recommend premium but I run the cheapo stuff, 87 octane, and they seem to not mind it at all. [emoji846]

$3.73 in VW yesterday at Murphy. Nice to see prices coming back down. Still not seeing a difference in driving habits. I was on 30 yesterday going east. Speed limit is 70. I was rolling 75mph. I was passed by several cars.

Around five and a half bucks for regular

$400 rebate check for the high gas prices is planned. Can you believe that?
