I’ve noticed speaking with my Spanish speaking workers that when I tell the lead guy what I want done in 10 words, it takes him 30 words to tell the crew what to do

Of course, it could be five words of I want done and 25 words talking trash about me!

Hilarious and one of his contentions was that women get 25,000 words to use each day and men only 10,000. By the time the man gets home from work he’s used up all his words and his wife still has 5,000 left. (Or something to that affect).

I saw that and the guy's name is/was Rob Becker. His performance was hilarious and I still remember random bits of it. It was on some weekly standup comedy show on HBO (or other channel).

I have been looking for the name of the show so I could search AMAZON or eBay at random points during the last ten years or so, but can't remember the show's name.

And his followup line was, "That's why you see construction workers whistling at women walking by the job site at the end of the day... they're out of words!"

WOAH, just found him on YouTube... somebody put this up in May 2018:

Brevity, conversation and attempting to justify ones existance by sounding are not the same. The latter is infectious in sisters.

Often I like to sit back a bit and let people talk.

My wife's family just talks very little. I married into that family 30 years ago. We went on a ski trip to Colorado, and we often went over an hour without anyone saying anything.

One time we all walked into a restaurant in silence, and the waitress seated us and then asked are you guys in a really bad mood or something? I replied this is the silent family. They don't talk much. I am the new guy that married into the family.

My wife and I have ridden in the car for two hours and the first words were about where to stop to pee. With her, after dating for a year, and being married for 30 years we have heard each others stories and unless something new comes up, we don't just try to find something to talk about. Silence is OK.

The one thing I had to be careful about was when she was mad at me, and "not talking to me", it took me a while to figure out I had done something wrong. Then she got really mad when I told her I was going to the local store to buy some fruit and did not get her some milk. She did not say a word, and got even madder at me because I failed to buy milk. I had no idea she needed milk, and she would not say anything, and I have not yet learned to read her mind.

If I ask you for the time, don't build me a watch, just tell me the time.
Or tell me to get a watch
