Do disposable gloves count? I've probably tossed 20 times more of those than actual gloves.

Probably 10 sets of ski gloves as the rope tows were brutal on them in my youth. Probably 20 sets of cheaper winter gloves snowmobiling, 3-wheeling/tubing etc as a kid and an adult.
Probably at least 80ish pairs of various work gloves doing concrete, construction, landscaping and truck driving jobs in my younger days.
Probably 15 pairs of cheap leather gloves in more recent years welding, grinding and home repairs.
Probably 6 pairs of MX gloves

Also have gone through hundreds of latex or nitrile gloves from various painting projects.

That said, I don't wear gloves when doing most mechanical work. I hate not being able to feel fasteners or intricate parts.

I did a rotation at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin CA back in the 90's. High desert and it gets stupid cold at night. I was riding around with my hands on the machine gun mount of my armored vehicle for about 2 weeks and got frost bite. That stuff hurts.

Now I usually wear Nomex flight gloves all the time in winter unless it is really cold. They are great and warm enough for most everything. I just roll the cuffs down one fold. Great for driving too, you can pretend to be in F1 ,WEC, or LeMans.

But I did wear out a pair of them (one finger) in one winter in Iraq and another after several years of wear (palm)
