Sold my phone to BuybackBoss
When I got a new iPhone, I sold my iPhone 12 Pro Max 64GB to BuybackBoss, as they offered $653 and that seemed reasonable and covered my payoff. Verizon had it unlocked, which surprised me- I thought it was going to take 60 days after I close the account. The website is super easy, they emailed a PDF of a shipping label with no charge to me and in less than a week I had the cash.

They'll pay $1.00 for my iPhone 6.

Verizon has a promo for a $500 gift card if you bring your own phone over. I brought two on a family plan, never heard a word about the gift cards. Now they say I waited too long to register and am SOL. $1000. I will never drop this.

I'm not keen on giving my phone to someone else. I know that you can do a factory reset, but unless you can REALLY wipe them, I don't trust the factory reset.

Old smartphones can be useful for lots of different stuff.
I could probably get a dollar for my old phones so I re-purposed them. One is a full-time controller for some timed WiFi lamps in my house, the other is dedicated to off-line GPS mapping and Strava. |
I saw a cool idea at a trade show a few years ago where a company had an app and some mounting hardware for making security cameras and sensors out of old phones.
