Ray Liotta, the intense actor from New Jersey best known for his turn as the hustler turned mob rat Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s GoodFellas, has died. He was 67.

Publicist Jennifer Allen told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor died Wednesday night or early Thursday in his sleep in his hotel room while in the Dominican Republic making the movie Dangerous Waters. His fiancée, Jacy Nittolo, was with him. He had begun work on the film about a week ago.

A great actor. 67 is too young to die.
Whenever I hear his name..I think of this scene....

Terrible, terrible loss - and I hate Hollywood in general.

Hasn’t been a good week…. Very sad.

I'd forgotten that was him. That's scene certainly made an impact when I saw it.

Dominic and Eugene was a good movie. Not seen that in many years but one of the first I saw with him. RIP.

That was a good movie often overlooked, him and Tom Hulce.

I worked with him twice. Unlawful Entry (another good flick) and on E.R. Always an easy going guy, very approachable.

"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster".

One of the best opening lines in a film.

Lorraine Bracco
@Lorraine_Bracco

I am utterly shattered to hear this terrible news about my Ray.
I can be anywhere in the world & people will come up & tell me their favorite movie is Goodfellas.
Then they always ask what was the best part of making that movie.
My response has always been the same…Ray Liotta.

Thanks Peter and Craig.

I loved all of his works but most of all "No Escape' and "Copland"......

BIG TIME. Absolutely LOVED that movie.

Ray was fantastic. Sylvester even managed to have some good moments.
