I wonder why the mother just stood by this time. Nature sucks sometimes.

Maybe she realized that she couldn't save both of them so she gave 1 of them up.
I dunno.

That was Grizzly

The surviving twin, if it lives to maturity, will have owed it’s life and the lives of its offspring to quick thinking.

I.e., ‘I’m outta here!’

The other one not so much.

I also think the mother moose was tired out from the previous chase.

Not for the bear.
