Is your life strange too?
35 years ago I loved Kate Bush while in college. Her and Roger Waters. Anyway, I've listened to my Kate CDs over the years but probably haven't in over 10 years. Yesterday though for some odd reason I searched for one of her albums, Hounds of Love, on youtube, listened to Running up that Hill. Whole thing was completely random, just came into my head.
10 minutes ago I got a message request from my first girlfriend from 35 years ago, have not talked with her in 34. She said she saw this the other day and thought of me. And sent the links. The thing is, stuff like this, and stranger, and luck, good and bad, randomly happens all the time to me. That's the kicker. It's constant. 985 hit 'Running Up That Hill' sprints up the charts, thanks to 'Stranger Things' <iframe width="1072" height="603" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/X2hgL4B0OcA" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
I'd find it very strange if any old girlfriends tried to contact me.

I stored a roll of carpet in my warehouse for 8 years. In the course of cleaning up the warehouse I sold the roll. The next day the lady whose carpet it was called me. I told her it was sold for storage charges. She didn’t complain too much. Strange how the world works.

Every once in a while growing up, when the phone rang my dad could sense who was calling. That was spooky.

Ahhh yes.... Reminds me the time, T'was thinking of an old girlfriend.
Suddenly (front door bell rings). I answered. It was the sheriff. With a restraining order! :D :D :D |
Yes.
I used to keep a record of them until I was about 30. I used to share these unexplainable happenings with others but figured nobody relates or cares so I just keep them to myself now. Comes and goes in waves. Like a series of them close in time. And then they vanish, for as long as a year or more one of the more shocking thing that’s happened to me happened about 20 years ago. I was having lunch in an Indian restaurant with a buddy and was reading the menu and read a description with black eyed peas. For some reason I remembered when I was a kid my grandmother had a can of them in her lazy Susan under the counter. I started remembering her kitchen and my mind drifted and all of a sudden my buddy blurted out “lazy Susan” out of nowhere. I said, why did you say that, he said I have no idea. I had to explain to him what a lazy Susan is. Gave us both chills |
About 30 years ago I liked a pretty German girl called Karen. We kind of circled around each other but nothing really happened. Then walking on the beach one day with the dogs I suddenly started thinking about Karen and how her life has turned out. For two days I couldn't stop thinking about her to be honest. THEN along the beach comes Karen. She was rather surprised I could remember everything about us (although nothing ever happened) and we bump into each other once a week now. I'd have been happy if it had have been her and me for the last 30 years.

Stuff like this happens to me all the time and it always catches me by surprise.
Don't read to much into this but it's like there's an outside force steering my life. |
Not to steal from the romantic auld lang syne aspect of this (which I can relate), I notice this happens in far off cities.
I am in an airport in some exotic US AIR transport/layover hub. I suddenly think "I'm about to run into someone" and BAM! it happens.... not necessarily a romantic someone, but, damn... wow.. Some call it "The Shinning" |
If I tell you a Rooster can pull a freight train you better hookum up !

Bunch of years back, the year we moved from NY to TX we took the kids to Hershey in PA for a few days.
On the way there we pass Crayola HQ where my buddy Rob was now working. 2nd day in Hershey, before we even enter the park I just get this feeling I'm gong to bump into Rob. All day it's nagging at me and I find myself actively keeping an eye out for him. Later in the afternoon the kids are having fun in a splash park but I don't have a good view of them so I get up to take a look and check in and who comes strolling down the path, Rob. Long story short, he was at home with the fam and just got this spontaneous urge to take them to the park. One of many examples I've personally experienced. I firmly believe humans, and other beasts, are capable of telepathy. Throughout all of history every culture has had their shamans, high priests, witch doctors, those in their communities who exhibited the abilities and where most in tune with the capability. I believe we all have the natural ability to some degree but as society has advanced and we have introduced more "noise" via OTA signals, radio, TV, cell, **** like that we've learned to tune that noise out and along with it we've filtered out our natural telepathic abilities. |
Weird, double weird. I was at a hotel in Greece and I saw a woman from behind and I thought that looks like my next door neighbour, Helen. Then I thought I don't even like Helen how would I know what she looks like from behind. Sure it was so we chatted for a while. Then the very next person I spoke to was a Kiwi from Wellington. Yup, she was my next door neighbour but over the back fence. She couldn't believe that the previous person I talked with was Helen (she asked is she the girlie one or the dykie one?)and was going to talk with her later.

I just know that now that I am in my 50’s, I can tell a customer what to do and they nod their head and say “ok.”
Feels like being a Jedi. |
Wait, it is not normal for stuff like that to happen?
Weird, random stuff happens to me a lot. When I was in middle school, I went to a concert at the Oakland Coliseum, AC/DC, Ted Nugent and Aerosmith. Went with my friend, his smoking hot sister and her boyfriend. Waiting to go in, there is a guy with a sign that says SLO. I ask him what it stands for, he tells me San Luis Obispo, where he plans to go to school. I do not think much about it until a few years later, my sister is looking at going to school in San Luis Obispo, because her boyfriend is going there, I drove down with her to look at the school. Her boyfriend is living in the dorm. His room mate, guy with the SLO sign from Oakland. Happens all the time. |
How's this for weird? (Tin foil hat?)
When there's a power black out I can sense for how long the power will be out and I know when it's about to come back on. I'm not 100% sure why or how but It's not a "psychic" thing. I think I can sense electricity and I haven't always been able to do this. |
When the phone rings I have an uncanny knack of knowing who is calling. Probably about a 50% success rate.
Mind you I only know two people. |
One fall a number of years ago, I was heading out on a route with a new International dairy truck at about 5:30 AM. Starting down a long hill a few miles out of town, I suddenly thought,"If I hit a deer, the fiberglass hood on this thing is gonna be wrecked."
That thought hit me so hard I not only let up on the throttle, but braked. About 5 seconds later, out of the dark on the left a big doe runs up on to the road and manages to cross just in front of the truck. I've learned to listen to those little voices. The consistant one for me has been "guessing" the sex of unborn children our friends (and now children of our frinds) are expecting. I don't think about it. I just seem to have the information. No idea why. Best Les |

I've been very close to a certain woman for more than 40 years. We met in undergrad school in '75 and have been friends ever since. She moved to Kauai a long time ago but we do stay in touch. I think of her often but every now and then she pops into my mind or my dreams and I know I must call her. Every time that has happened it has turned out to be at a time when she was experiencing a stressful event. Every time.
