I know someone who has spatial relation issues with cars, and she did well (or at least a little better) buy buying something smaller, giving her a little more leeway before dings occurred.

It really helped.

I think the rest of the world around her is a little safer too, although every several years the car still goes off to the body shop to refinish the battle scars of run over shopping carts and such :D
