Any Probate Attorneys/Paralegals in Harris County, TX?
Have not lived in Harris County in decades, my friend who practiced there died about 20 years ago, used to know another man but cannot find him in the interwebs so retired or out of business...
The Mother of an old friend of mine passed. My friend has not lived in Harris County in more years than me. The probate court people were definitively unhelpful in help for what forms and how to file. The rest of the family is completely disinterested in assisting. The estate is tiny, in SE Harris County, should be fairly "simple" but may have issue with ownership of paid for real estate. Taxes are up to date. Is there someone who does inexpensive (there is no real money involved) assistance? Maybe a paralegal we could contact? I appreciate any assistance for my friend!

I had to call my son anyway, so I asked him his advice. He is a lwayer in Norfolk, Va.
He said do a search - he recommended JUSTIA: https://www.justia.com/lawyers/probate/texas/harris-county He said snoop around on the attorneys websites and see if anyone seems to strike a cord. Then call them. He also said the first 15 minutes are generally free. Best of luck. I hope all is well!

Paul,
Thank you! Will give it a shot! Too much on the farm. Moving to registered stock, hay, someone cutting fences, armed response in the middle of the night all while holding down the regular job. Just as if still on active duty! But I am so very close to retirement now. How goes it with your farm? Still have the Massey's? I still miss mine a dozen years on. Hate the Deere, love the Case. Very glad to hear your Son found his niche! He is a good Man, as is his Dad!

We were all a bit worried when he lost his eye that he wouldn't be able to replace his goal of Army Special Ops - but, so far, so good! He also said today when we chatted to go online and find a free checklist on estates, executor stuff, probate, etc. and get prepared in advance of calling an attorney. https://www.estateexec.com/Docs/Executor_Checklist

Awesome stuff! I have shared with my remaining family members as well. We will be doing this ourselves in the near future unfortunately.
