I am so happy for you and your pup . Give him a nice head scratch for me and an extra treat or two . Just fantastic news . Is he normally a chewer ? I would think that is odd for a senior dog . Enjoy your weekend .

Great news Matt! Odd that he’s still a chewer at that age.

I’ve had a few $5k plus pets, but boy are they worth every penny. Rest easy this weekend and snuggle the pup!

When my poodle Zora was a year or two old, she ate something that messed her up, so the vet recommended opening her up. The problem was, if you let it go, it could turn fatal if the object damaged her insides. It went well and she healed up quickly.

Turns out the object on the x-ray was a smooth rock, which actually passed into her colon with the anesthesia and would have passed naturally. I kept it as a souvenir:

A friend's dog stopped eating etc. They found something strange on the ultrasound. On cutting him open they found he had eaten part of a corn cob, which some some strange reason didn't dissolve in his stomach acids. Who would have thought.

KC has been improving since his surgery. He is eating canned dog food that I mash a bit with a fork so it is easier to digest. He is alert and gets up on the couch (his favorite place) by himself. He has a good bit of meds to take for pain and antibiotic purposes, but he gobbles those right down in his food. He is up to almost a quarter can every 2 hours. The vet said small amounts, more frequently are good. His temp is down to 100.7. He is recovering quite nicely !

I just finished cleaning the knotted clothesline that was in his gut. I also soaked it in bleach to kill anything. I will enclose a photo later.

Wow, holy moly, that's a lot of clothesline, and looks like a big knot on the top right.

Whoa!

No wonder he wasn't eating with that big hunk of crap inside of him.

Thanks for your caring, Matt. Please give KC a hug or 5 from Baz.....
