Colorado is beautiful

I just finished about 1200 miles of riding my Motorcycle thru Colorado. Our group of 5 rode over several mountain passes and would find great spots to camp along the way. We've done several trips like this together, so we all ride well together and have a great time at the end of the day at camp. I found the people in Colorado to be extremely friendly and scenery was just spectacular. We took a ton of pictures, this is just a few.

Looks like a great time! We have been out here in CO in our RV for the past 2 1/2 months looking for a house to buy. Just wish the market was not so crazy, but it looks like it might be relaxing a bit now. Still looking for something in the foothills just West, SW of Denver. Getting a bit cramped with the two of us in this little 21' RV, but we still love each other, so that helps!

Funny, I've been looking at Zillow since I got home....not so sure I could deal with those winters though.

We are coming from NY where we get about 150" of snow off of lake Ontario, and its on the ground from end of Nov. to about the end of March. At least here in CO the sun comes out and melts the snow in a few days after it falls!

Colorado is my second favorite state, after CA. Absolutely breathtaking and the people and culture are great, in my experience. Looks like a great trip!!

I have a lifelong friend who has lived in Denver since 1979, big outdoorsman type of guy. His biggest complaint is how much hotter it's gotten there...it's a very hot summer now. The winters are easy, you can dress for that cold. It's not extreme like where I'm from.

My sister just moved out here (staying with me at the moment) and is looking to buy a home in the SW Denver area. The market has cooled greatly in just a couple months. She lucked out...

My very good friend is a hydrologist out there. He's been telling me how difficult it is to manage water out there. Without a significant snowpack the situation gets very difficult.

The Rockies are indeed beautiful and great for motorcycling.

This is the Dirty Dozen I rode with back a few years.

I did the same after returning to my home in Golden CO in April of 2021 after visiting Lake Norman NC in April, 2021.

After 19 years in Colorado's arid climate, we're now happily retired in a state I'd never given much thought to. Then I made that fateful visit. As a guy who grew up in Oregon, and was always on, in around the water, and with a Cajun wife who also grew up on the water, getting out of Golden (one of the coolest towns in CO, by the way) couldn't happen fast enough.

For us, lake life in NC beats anything CO has to offer ... hands down.

Interestingly, 4 of the five of us are from Oregon. All of us started shopping.

Yes Colorado is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing your images! brings back so many memories. Have made made quite a few trips there over the years with buds, was great taking my son there a couple times.

Also talked my wife in to riding there with me as well... was great sharing the experience.

Super photos and commentary - thanks to all!

Michael: Agree Colorado is gorgeous! Like Denis - California is my #1 with Colorado #2.

Not to diss other states - they are all beautiful - just seems like some more than others. Kinda like chili - none bad - some just better than others.

A few of my pics from the 80's.....

there are no more houses for sale in Colorado, nor are they building any.

We are full.

I knew Colorado was beautiful but I didn’t realize how beautiful til I went off-road.

In 2020 we stayed at my uncle’s cabin in South Fork with access to his Jeep. We went to the tourist office and a park ranger looking guy gave us suggestions on where to go. As we looked at the map figuring out where to go he asked what are we driving. I said a Jeep. He asked, a Jeep? I replied yes, A JEEP. He said alright, here’s where you should go as he laid out the path. I looked at the map and noticed some orange dotted lines meaning motorcycle only. I asked about the orange lines. He said you’ll be fine. Have fun.

Have fun did we! I didn’t get enough pics but the memories are awesome!

Thats fantastic. I've already started talking to my wife about going. We will probably take the jeep though.
